Biomedical Careers options

There are many careers for people with PhD's in biomedical science. If you get a PhD in biomedicine, you could go into academia, publishing, policy making, industry/biotech, consulting, journalism and many others.

Benefits of Being a phd student:

While pursing a PhD in biomedicine, graduate students typically receive financial support and medical benefits. 
  • PhD students receive an annual stipend and other financial support throughout their tenure.
  • PhD students are eligible for medical benefits throughout their tenure.
For example, University of New Mexico’s School of Medicine offers a fully-funded PhD program in biomedical sciences which includes:
  • $25,836/year stipend
  • health insurance
  • tuition and fees
